Exmouth coach speaks after the win over Old Centralians

Cockles coach Jon Hill said: “I was particularly pleased with our workmanlike performance today, and to score over 50 points against any team in our division is a superb achievement”

He continued: “I felt Man of the Match Henry Goldson together with Ollie Rice, looked particularly dangerous with ball in hand, and fly half George Meadows kept the scoreboard ticking throughout which made a difference. The work ethic of our back row was also a key factor in the contest.

“I always felt that if we showed respect to the ball and got beyond five phases, that we would reap the rewards, and that certainly proved the case in the last 20 minutes where we effectively raised the

pace of the game and took the opportunities that we created.

“In a league where there are clearly very small margins, it was also a big boost to our cause that Bracknell did not pick up a bonus point away at Chard, which puts us in a strong position as we look for a top two finish in our league campaign.”
