EAST Devon Eagles' players Tony Emmins and Rich Cadywould have been selected to play for the National Conference England Lionhearts side in the first of their 4 Nations games against Wales this coming Saturday afternoon (June 12).The game is a curtain raiser to the Celtic Crusaders versus Wigan match and Eagles player/coach Emmins will skipper the side.Emmins played for the England Lionhearts in 2007 when he returned from France after playing for Toulouse but it proved to be a disappointing campaign for him as he did not play for long and, when he did it was out of his regular position as prop. Emmins has previously skippered the South of England team against GB Students and has also represented the South West on several occasions.A delighted Emmins said: "It is a great honour to be selected for the national side and I am so looking forward to this season's campaign and playing with the likes of Dan Reeds, Andy Lake and Eagle's Rich Cadywould. Richard has earned his place in the Lionhearts' team with his excellent decision making and control in the half back position for the Eagles and the South of England over the last couple of seasons."It will be Cadywould's first appearance in a Lionhearts shirt. He was recognised by the Rugby League Conference as an outstanding player and was awarded their Player of the Year 2008. He has been the Eagles top points scorer for two seasons, and the stand-out player in the Rugby League Conference South West division. His variety and creativity in attack, and assurance in defence, mark him out and his kicking game and distribution was instrumental in the East Devon Eagles finishing as the South West Conference league leaders last season.
