Exmouth RFC host National Three's basement side Chippenham RFC on Saturday (November 14), writes Steve Birley.
Chippenham currently prop up the table with seven loses from seven games, although Head Coach Jon Hill is vary wary of reading too much into league position:
“This league is so unpredictable that it would be foolish to read anything at all into league position at this stage. Chippenham have scored more points than second placed Old Redcliffians , and have picked up bonus points on four separate occasions so they are certainly competitive and are not out of their depth in any way.
“It is a dangerous fixture and one that we must be mentally clued into the challenge and into all of our processes. Faulty processes can be poisonous and getting our mindset right has to be a key priority this weekend. We have showed in the last two league games that we can work extremely hard in both attack and defence and the challenge now is to be more consistent as a side.
“We are unbeaten at home this season in league and cup, and could welcome back last seasons leading try scorer Richard Bright as well as former captain Ross Morshead into the squad. That, on paper would be a significant boost of experience, but it is justifying whether they should come into a squad who beat Newton Abbot last weekend.
“Training attendance and performance in training and games will determine selection, and we will wait until after Thursday to confirm the squad. All being well there will be minimal changes from last week”
Kick-off is at 2.30pm and admission is £7 for adults (this includes a programme) and it is £6 for senior citizens and concessions with Under-16s admitted free.
