Archant

What a difference a win makes, that’s certainly the feeling at the Imperial Ground after the Cockles triumphed 36-34 to secure their third victory of the National Two (S) season, writes Steve Birley.

Tries from Dave Bargent, Dan Pullinger, Mark Wathes and Richard Bright plus some accurate kicking from Rob Avery-Wright saw the Cockles to a much needed success.

Whilst still bottom of the table the Cockles are now within four points of three other teams prior to Saturday’s trip to third placed Cambridge.

Director of rugby Chris Wright said: We had much more control when in possession and the desire to attack was clear. Our scrum went well – that’s something you have to have – and the platform the back row of Ollie Pyne, Joe Watson-Brookes and Ross Morshead was central to our success.”
