Brilliant Blyth as Withy Under-10s beat Brixham

Withycombe under-10’s emerged from two matches with Brixham with a brace of well deserved victories.
The score lines in both matches were emphatic but belie the closeness between the sides.
The main difference being that Withycombe used the ball they won to great effect and defended tenaciously when Brixham were in possession.
The second encounter saw Withy win 35-5.
Both Blyth and Bolwell carried on where they left off in the first match scoring a brace of tries each.
This time Blyth’s tries were more lung busting efforts both from long range after initially breeching the defensive line.
Bolwell showed his terrier like spirit picking up the ball from close range scrums and burrowing his way over the white wash.
There was no such burrowing from Josh Farr who once again showed great strength in barging his way over the line to score whilst carrying two would be defenders on his back.
This effort from Withycombe’s powerhouse was followed up by a first ever try from the somewhat smaller Finlay Robertson, who was on hand to pick up the loose ball close to the Brixham line after a great run from Alex Weighton.
Weighton himself got on the score sheet with a well deserved try that saw him spy a hole in the defensive line and outpace the defence to cap off a very good individual and team performance.
