Bennett runs in six tries as Withycombe Under-8s win well at Honiton

Withycombe Under-8s chalked up back-to-back wins over hosts Honiton on a chilly Sunday morning.
In the opening game which produced a 10-3 Withy win it was Harry Bennett who took the honours for a superb shift that saw the youngster score no fewer than six tries.
As well as the scores, he was also very prominent in tagging.
There was some superb team play with all players being involved in defending and forcing Honiton back and turning the ball over numerous times.
Erin Asselman also showed excellent defensive skills in taking every tag to turn the ball over single handily in one particular passage of play. Bennett’s haul apart the other Withy scorers were, Charlie Passmore (2), Paddy McGuinness and Erin Asselman.
The second game saw Withy land a 10-5 win.
This was a much closer encounter and Withy had to work hard to win the match.
There was again some outstanding defending on show, particularly from Oliver Willis, Charlie Tyler and Ollie Hempstead.
Man of the Match in game two was James Griffin who not only completed multiple tags but also registered a brace of scores. Keiran Davies was another to shine with a number of bold and strong forward moves.
Erin Asselman, Charlie Passmore and Harry Bennett each also scored a pair and Sam Skinner and Alfie Gillard were the other scorers.
