THE first Exmouth Sea Angling Association’s competition of 2011 was held last week, writes Tim Clotworthy.

The event was the Exe Flounder Quest, fished from the shore between Warren Slip and Orcombe Point, fishing for the best weight from two flounder.

Thirteen members fished with the majority opting to fish the Shelley area as more fish have been landed here over the winter than anywhere else on the estuary!

There were just four flounder caught, all from the Shelley area, with the outright winner being Brian Reed with a single flounder weighing in at just over 2lbs.

Second place went to Shauna Hole with a flounder of 1.76lbs and third was Andy Browning with a flounder of 1.54lbs.
