On the final day of August, 43 East Devon Seniors visited Oake Manor Golf Club near Taunton, for their Annual Away Day.

In teams of four, a fun day’s golf was undertaken, following Organiser, Colin Pratt’s convoluted scoring system.

Unsurprisingly, a team including Colin won for the third time in a row. However, the Seniors’ Captain, Alan Bishop, foiled an attempt for Colin’s team to win in the Raffle, by avoiding drawing any of the green tickets favoured by them.

A very successful event, and as opposed to last year, everyone found the course and avoided losing equipment in one of the lakes. However, it was considered the outstanding accident must have occurred to Peter de la Mere’s tie - although he claims the “design” was on it at the time of purchase in Hong Kong.

Alan Bishop is seen presenting Colin, Mike Moore, Robin Grenyer and Ray Ambrose with the winning prizes.
