After the original meeting had been abandoned owing to fog the East Devon ladies managed to eventually play a big competition, but once again the weather did it's best to spoil proceedings.

THE East Devon ladies were finally able to play the Jill Wakeford Salvers foursomes Flag Competition last week.

This, after the first attempt had been hampered by fog and the event abandoned!

The re-scheduled meeting was not blessed with good weather either as the players had to deal with heavy rain and strong winds.

It was the hardiest of souls who took on the challenge whilst the fair-weather players decided to enjoy the delights, and considerable comfort, of the warm club-house.

After battling elements and fellow players the eventual winners were Judy Murray and Linda Longmuir.

Rosemary Pratt and Sarah White were the most worthy runners-up.
