Police Social Club A hold narrow lead at the top of the Exmouth Snooker League

All teams have completed the first of four rounds of fixtures in the Exmouth Snooker League.

The early results have left Police Social Club A holding a slender one point lead at the top of the table.

This, despite a home defeat to second place East Budleigh. Mike Hughes (85-70) and Rob Pow (71-58) were ahead after three frames, but, eventually lost out to Derek Quick (72-41), Kev Luxton (64-60) and Barry Bentley (64-39).

Defending champions, Conservative Club were still without a win. Iain Callander (84-63) and Dan Brown (62-49) drew level with Eric James (62-30) and Trevor Haylock (62-27) of the Police C, before Ray Sturman won the decider (50-37) for the visitors.

Into round two, Conservative Club at last recorded their first victory, reversing the score from their first encounter with the Police B. Tim Parker 69-51, John Sharland (78(24)-32), Craig Wilson (53-45) and Dan Brown (65-56) recovered from the loss of the first frame to Ted Perkin (75-68).

East Budleigh went top to date as Graham Ward (74-34), Derek Quick (60-59), Mark Auton (74-48) and Kev Luxton (71-67), with two black-ball wins were denied maximum points by Trevor Haylock (68-46) on the Police C table.
