Police Social Club A avenged their first encounter with the Number Nine A to extend their lead in the Exmouth Snooker League to six points.

But, they did it the hard way, as Mark Rock with a break of 37 lost the opening frame to Iain Callander 68-65. Dave Thomas put the visitors two to the fore (77-39), before Mike Delahaye 62-26 and Pete Abrahams 84-60 set up the decider which was won by George Webster 65-43.

Third place Police C slipped further back, winning only the 4th frame through John Evens 60-47 against the Police B. John Spamer 58-33, Ashley Down 61-54, Terry Merrick 52-45 and Bob Horton 45-19 recorded their fourth win to date, but, they still prop up the table with a game in hand.

With two games in hand, champions Number Nine B will need to repeat their latest victory and more to put pressure on the current leaders. Dan Abrahams 71-39, Russell Frame 72-59, John Duck 79-69 and John Sharland 54-38 just saw frame three lost to Barry Bentley 49-48 from East Budleigh.
