Phear Park welcomed Culmvale Bowls Club for a recent match and with Culmvale playing in the new colourful kit and Phear Park all in white, it was slightly reminiscent of the 2003 Rugby World Cup.
Scores were equal at half time and Sara Westacott played the last shot (Jonny Wilkinson style) to secure a 66-62 victory for Phear Park.
The Men’s Over 60s at Sidmouth did not go to plan, with the A Team losing. However, we came back with a win by the slimmest margin against Uffculme, 63-62. Amazing, when there are 162 points on offer but very often teams will score only one point in each round. Uffculme had the youngest player I have seen to date at just 11 years of age but he played a very good game and we wish him well for the future.
The last match of the week was away to Chudleigh, which unfortunately ended in a heavy loss of 55-88.
