It was another excellent week at Phear Park, starting with an away win against Exonia.
Three triples played against an Exonia side on a lovely sunny day last Tuesday, then another match on Thursday against Topsham, where we managed to get 15 players to travel but narrowly lost by five points overall. Again, our thanks to three new bowlers, including Anne Killoran who scored her first point in the first end.
Finally, on Saturday, our newly-appointed President, Liz Nelson, officially opened the Season with an internal competition on Presidents Day at home. We had 22 bowlers enjoying a yardstick competition that was won by just one point with a team comprising Liz Nelson, Mike Killoran and Rick Tatchell.
Friday afternoon at 2pm is a club open event where new bowlers can come along to receive free coaching and a chance to try this mildly energetic sport of lawn bowls.
