PHEAR Park B entertained Topsham in the Over-60s triples league, writes Lawrie Harries.

The outcome of a fascinating encounter was a Phear Park win by ten shots.

Brian Green skipped Lawrie Harries and John Anderson to a 20-9 win whilst the second triple of Peter Burch, Mike Pope and Dave Martin (skip) fought back from a poor start before dropping a shot on the last end to end up losing 13-12!

In friendly matches, Phear Park travelled to Uffculme for a friendly but lost by 18 shots. The only winning rink was that of Paul Westacott, Hilary Higgins, Richard Cooper and Tom Russell (skip).

However, it was back to winning ways when Phear Park hosted a six rink triples with Ottery St Mary; which was won by five shots. Best performing triple was Roy Bateman, Paul Westacott and Gerry Sharland (skip), winners by 22 shots to 13.

Other winners were Chas Coates, Leighton Burston and skip Sarah Westacott; also Lawrie Harries, John Anderson and Richard Coopr (skip).
