An impressive field of seven juniors turned out at East Devon on the first Sunday of February for the latest junior competition, writes Martyn Lewis.

Once again the players were fortunate enough to be able to dodge the bad weather and they found the course to be in good condition.

Thomas Peters continued his good form, going on to win this meeting with a score of 38points, a performance that also led to his handicap being reduced to 17.

Second place went to this year’s junior captain Max Handford with 36 points. Max made a wonderful start to his round and was two under pare after four holes!

Sam Corney took third place with a score of 33 points, his round boosted by him birdying the 18th.

The rounds of Max and Sam mean both keep their handicaps at 10.
