BUDLEIGH under-14s were 67 run winners when they met Woodbury.

Batting first they had two key innings with Harry Parkin hitting three 4s before retiring on 41 and Sam Conway, who struck five 4s in a knock of 40 before he too retired. The pair opened the Budleigh innings and batted superbly. Ben Pritchard also chipped in with 14 as the innings closed on 136-4.

Riordan Deehan- Jackson claimed two wickets for Woodbury whilst there was a wicket also for his brother Conall and also for William Thornton whilst, in the field there was a neat stumping by William Jones and a fine catch held by Eddie Cook.

Riordan Deehan-Jackson was the star of the reply as he thumped five 4s in a cultured knock of 33 and Eddie Cook gave the best of the support with his innings of 14 - he struck a pair of 4s and, in smashing one of them towards the boundary, also saw his bat leave the crease in two separate directions! Deehan-Jackson and Cook put on 44 for the fourth wicket and the innings closed on 69-7. The Budleigh bowling was shared around with Toby Seldon (1-8), Ben Pritchard (2-14), Lawrence Constable (1-10) and Joe Marley (1-12). There were also a couple of run-outs caused by direct hit throws and catches were held by James Plowman ,Constable and wicket keeper, Conway.
