Exeter Chiefs Women lapped up the appreciation of rugby fans from across the region with an Open Top Bus Parade to celebrate winning the inaugural Allianz Cup.
The Chiefs had defeated Harlequins 57-12 in a superb final performance. The score was a fairly tight 19-12 at half-time, Hope Rogers crossing the line twice in the first period.
After the break, however, the Chiefs turned on the style and romped to a victory that will live long in the memory. Every facet of the team clicked perfectly on the day and a glorious achievement for the Chiefs, who celebrated in style throughout the parade.
The side is coached by Head Coach Susie Appleby, who joined Exeter Rugby Club from Gloucester-Hartpury Women’s team where she had been in a similar role since 2014.
Well done to everyone involved with Exeter Chiefs Women, who will be targeting more silverware next season.
