Exmouth Harriers’ Mike Musgrove is set to lead a Jubilee running event.
Instead of the regular hot competition the Exmouth fireman tends to race in he will lead school children in an Olympic Aquatic Torch relay fun run from opposite the Globe Inn, Lympstone to a finish at the Cliff Field in Lympstone where a beacon will be lit to honour the Jubilee.
It’s all to tie in with the arrival in the village of the Olympic Aquatic Torch.
The run takes place on Monday (June 4) and has a 6.30pm start time with the runners congregating opposite Lympstone Post Office at 6pm.
The Harriers stalwart says: “I get a great deal of pleasure introducing the youngsters to running. We have quite a regular following locally now amongst the Primary School age children and this is something a little different that they can all be involved in. We are making it akin to the torch relay so that the youngsters can all feel they have had a part in proceedings. They are all being asked to turn out in colours of red, white and blue. It should be a very jolly occasion.”
