AFTER various disruptions due to the holiday period and, of course, the inclement weather, the Exmouth Bridge Club is back in full swing, writes Carla Pickering.

A busy recent spell began with the playing on the second Tuesday of January the BGB Winter Simultaneous Pairs which, sadly, had a disappointing turn-out of just seven pairs!

Rosemary Ormerod and Chris Hall finished the session top at Club level however; they were overtaken in the national standings by the pairings of Terry Cannon and Phil Palmer and Gordon Baker and John Dick, who did well to be ranked 174th & 268th respectively in a field of 1858 players.

Last Thursday the fourth leg of the Winter League was played. In Division One New Deal has opened up a lead of five points over Temp whilst, in Division Two, the Luce Cannons are in the lead by four points with their nearest challengers being the Vin Trapps.

With just the one match left in the series there is still much to play for in both Divisions.
