PHEAR Park A suffered a disappointing defeat Over-60s triples league last week, writes Lawrie Harries.
Playing against Dawlish Marina, Richard Cooper, Tom Russell and David Evans (skip) won by two shots but Bob Smith’s rink of Les Parr and Jack Coates dropped eleven shots on the last five ends to go down by eight shots.

There was better new though for the Phear Park B side who struck an excellent brace of victories.
First they overcame a difficult green at Ottery St Mary to win by 37 shots to 22.
Mike Pope, Brian Green and Gerry Sharland (skip) finished three shots ahead while Peter Burch, David Martin and skip John Walker were always in control and they ended winners by 20 shots to 8.
Back home, Sidmouth provided a much stiffer test as Peter Burch, Brian Green and John Walker (skip) hung on to win their encounter 15-13.
The second triple of Lawrie Harries, David Martin and Gerry Sharland (skip) conceded ten shots on successive ends but came back strongly to earn a draw at 19 shots each.
