IT TURNED out to be a case of mixed fortunes for Budleigh Men last week, writes Paul Griffin.
On Wednesday, they were defeated by Dawlish in the Over-60’s County Trophy, losing on three of the four rinks that were contested.

Budleigh’s home rink skipped by Bob Rivers with Tony Lim, Alan Pearson and Ralph Lawson, led all the way to win 20-13 and the other home rink of John Vanstone, Dick Mitchell, Tony Stone and skip Archie Autton, held off a late flourish by the visitors to win 22-21.
Budleigh’s away rink of Richard Cooper, Peter Birch, Mike Reader and skip Gerry Roberts won 25-20 and the other away rink skipped by Alan Cottle with Don Huish, Mike Shaw and Alan Cottle won narrowly 22-21.
