Lydney 2, Exe II 1

It took half a game for Exe to shake the long journey from their legs as the hosts, one up inside ten minutes, dominated the first half.

Becky Smith made some excellent saves and Glady Poole was solid in defence, whilst the best chance for Exe fell to Bridie Marlow, whose shot was well saved by the home keeper.

The second half saw a rejuvenated Exe fight back and Kate Granger was instrumental in the comeback.

However, despite their best efforts the home side doubled their lead with five minutes to play.

Bridie Marlow skilfully deflected a deserved consolation in the last minute.
