CYCLE RACING: Sport Beans rider Marcin Biablocki won the latest South West region road race championship held on Sunday.

He managed to pull clear of Tom Southam (Halfords Bikehut team) in the closing stages to win by just 20 seconds after the 80 mile race. James Williams, who finished alone, some time ahead of the 'best of the rest', came in third.

Local riders Adam Holmes, Andy Parker, and Andy Hitchen, all from the Mid Devon Cycling Club, took 5th, 7th and 8th places respectively.

The only representative from Exmouth was Ian Philips, who managed a creditable 26th in what turned out to be a very hard race indeed.

Last Wednesday saw the weekly 10 mile timetrial at Daisymount.

19 riders took part and Karl Hodson produced the best time, even if he took some persuading from the time keepers that he had indeed achieved a time of 22:04,

The fastet Exmouth team rider was Keith White who clocked 25:25.

The ladies' competition is hotting up with Emily Adkin doing 28:03, and Sue Brimecombe on 28:05, whilst other local rider times were Jamie Fabrizio (26:18) and Steve Medlock (27:59).

The club have announced that 10 mile time trial events will now be held every Wednesday evening throughout the summer and they are keen to add greater numbers and so are asking anybody from across the area who might be interested in joining the Club to get in touch via the website www.csdynamo.org.uk

There is a £2 entry fee to the 10 mile time trials.
