MALTEAZERS played their final game of the Exmouth Netball Winter League season, writes Louis Passmore.

The game was played on a warm and humid evening and was possibly the hottest ever conditions that Winter League netball had been played in!

Malteazers took time to settle into the game and, at the end of the first quarter, they held only a single goal lead over opponents EBG.

It was during the second quarter that Malteazers began to find their rhythm despite the fact that a number of their players were operating in different positions.

Sarah Reynolds, playing as wing attack, provided a constant supply of good ball into the shooting circle despite strong opposition from EBG’s defence.

There was also a fine individual performance from Jackie Cox who gave her usual tireless effort in mid-court, linking play to ensure the ball was moved quickly, and accurately.

When the final whistle was blown it was Malteazers celebrating victory at 37-22.

Goal shooter, Ginny Coggles was named Player of the Match for the winners whilst Nicky Holland, playing at centre, won the award for EBG.
