Madeira played for the Ink Stand Trophy in their annual meeting with Winscombe - and won it!

MADEIRA played the annual match with Winscombe last week, writes Ron Stares.

This is a Triples game that is played for the right to hold the Ink Stand Trophy for the next twelve months.

Madeira emerged 124-86 winners.

At the fifth end, the visitors held a lead of four shots and, at the half way stage, were still in front but only by two shots.

After tea the hosts powered in front, held it to the end and finished with wins on half the rinks and by 38 shots overall.

The best Madeira triple was Tony Howie, Keith Ewins and Club Captain George Perrin (skip) who won by 22 shots.
