Madeira played a brace of friendlies against Abbrook Park and Budleigh Salterton.

IN A a friendly fixture Madeira put out three triples teams against Abbrook Park, writes Mary Ann Dowrick.

Two out of the three Madeira triples were successful on the day.

Skip Jenny Smith with Norma Cureton and Ann Doidge 15-10 and Skip Annette Flockhart with Debbie Fox and Joyce Turnbull, won 16-13.

Another friendly against next door neighbours Budleigh Salterton was more like a roller-coaster ride for all three Madeira rinks. After ten ends Madeira were behind on all the rinks. However, after tea, the teams slowly climbed to the top of the roller-coaster where they stayed to finally win on all three rinks.

Skip Jean Rainton with Kate Andrews, Betty Roberts and Veda Bevan 29-25; Skip Annette Flockhart with Marjorie Glanville, Jan Worsfold and Ann Doidge 21-18; Skip Carole Worth with Jill Perrin, Freda Relph and Mary Ann Dowrick 19-12.
