Madeira were beaten by a dozen shots by visiting Cheltenham Spa last week.

Madeira entertained a side from Cheltenham Spa and as often happens against this particular opponent, a close game followed, writes Ron Stares.

After half the contest was completed the lead for the hosts was one of 22 shots.

The visitors then began a fight back and it left the cards needing to be checked at the end of a close encounter!

The result emerged as a 244-232 victory to the visitors.

At the close of play Madeira had won on six of the rinks played with the visitors claiming a similar amount of victories.

The best Madeira rink was Nicola Fiddimore, David Morrish, Brenda Marks and skip Ken Roberts who won by 22 shots
