It was quite a match, with the outcome being in the balance throughout the contest.

Each club won on two out of four rinks, but Madeira clinched an overall win based on point differential.

The pairs, skipped by Sue Harriott with Christine Macaulay came out on top by18-15 against Topsham skip Jenny Dawson with Carol Horgan.

The triples, skipped by Liz Smerdon with Pat Harris and Angela Denner sailed home with a 19-12 win.

The fours, skipped by Liz Healy with Jean Rainton, Brenda Marks and Jacky Howle, narrowly lost their game 24-25 but did well to run their opponents close in the final ends.

Finally, Jan Roberts and her opponent Jean Chudley both played near perfect games and were nip and tuck until the final ends when Jean pulled away to secure a hard fought victory 21-16. Madeira will now move on to the County Final.
