National Competitions have taken centre stage this past week at Madeira.

C Macaulay, L Smerdon, and S Harriott played P Hackwood’s team in the National Triple’s at Honiton and came away 25-6 winners.

In the Lane Trophy Madeira won on two rinks and lost on two rinks against Torquay United with Madeira winning the overall tie on shot difference.

In the national 4’s, J Roberts, P Harris , L Smerdon and C King played C Lake’s team from North Devon at Madeira and won 23–15.

They next take on S Evans’ team at Honiton.

In the National singles C King travelled to Mid Devon to play G Callaghan and came home with a 21–14 win and she now heads for a meeting at Honiton with C Binmore.

Last but not least, Madeira hosted the annual Christmas Fayre which was a great occasion.

Every body worked hard to make it the success it was and on a personal note I ran the tombola stall with Pat Harris and we would like to give a special thank you to all the members who donated items for our stall.
