It was another highly successful week for the Madeira ladies.

First up there was a 21-13 National Singles competition success for Catherine King against Honiton’s Julie Grant.

In the same competition Jan Roberts won 21-13 against Carole Binmore also from Honiton and intriguingly it means that King and Roberts will now go head-to-head in an in-house derby in the next round!

In the County pairs Roberts and King then combined to land a 21-13 success at Sidmouth against Evelyn Clements and Phil Nobbs.

Madeira played a Foxlands match against Isca that produced a brace of home wins with S Harriott’s team wining 25-10 and J Howle’s winning 19-18 to give Madeira a 44-28 success. In the away leg L Smerdon’s team went down by a three shot margin at 22-19, but there was success for the C King team who won 34-12.

Against Exonia just two rinks were played as the visitors could not raise three rinks. The result was in the balance to the end with Madeira emerging single shot winners at 39-38.

N Fiddimore skipped L Halpin, D Williams and J Alan as they went down 23-10, but the team skipped by A Flockhart saved the day with a 29-15 triumph. Also in the victorious team V Bevan, M Cooper and P Preece.
