Madeira Ladies were kept busy over the past week, writes Catherine King.

In the national 2-wood triples, Christine Macaulay, Liz Smerdon and Sue Harriott played a triple from South Hams.

It proved to be an enthralling encounter that went the distance with the Madeira trio winning on then extra end to record a single shot victory at 15-14.

The Christmas triples was played over two days and saw Graham Clarkson Simon Weclawek and Jean Rainton win on a tie break against Milly Powell Mick Powell and Cliff Skinner

In the Yetton Plate Madeira won 77–72 and now go on to play against Caradon

Madeira took a mixed side to Bridport to play in a friendly match and won overall by 72–43 shots

In the county pairs Jan Roberts and Catherine King played Yvonne Rainer and Carol Binmore and secured a 17-13 success.

Saturday saw the Christmas party and Grand Draw which was enjoyed by all who attended.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all members and readers a very happy Christmas and a prosperous new year.
