Mackness seals Horton Trophy win.

EAST Devon Golf Club held a Stableford competition, as well as the Horton Trophy event, the latter being for ladies who play in the Bronze Division and who have a handicap to qualify them for the Horton Trophy.

EAST Devon Golf Club held a Stableford competition, as well as the Horton Trophy event, the latter being for ladies who play in the Bronze Division and who have a handicap to qualify them for the Horton Trophy.The Silver Division was won by Maria Heard with 37 point's, closely followed by three players on 36 points whose positions were determined on countback. Helen Chivers was then named runner-up while Barbara Holden came third and Sue Fowler fourth.In the Bronze A section it was Elaine Whitehead who emerged as the winner with 37 point. Clare Phillips took second place with 36 points whilst the next two places were determined by count-back with Lorraine Caldwell pipping Margaret Whitehead.In the Bronze B Division it was Dierdre Mackness who claimed first place, and with it the Horton Trophy with a total of 35 points. Second was Elsie Wood 0n 32 points and a further point behind was Jean Moodie with Frances Hurrell taking fourth on 29 points.in 3rd and Sue Fowler in 4th.
