Lympstone golfer David Verdon-Smith has qualified for an Audi quattro Cup UK Regional Final golf tournament this summer.

Verdon-Smith narrowly won the ‘Silver Street Audi Invitational’ staged at the Woodbury Park with a score of 38-points in the Stableford rules matches over 18-holes.

The top finishers from the event now pair up in a Regional Final at the St Pierre Golf Club in Chepstow on August 1.

The competition was supported by Exeter Audi, Plymouth Audi, Taunton Audi plus Audi Approved Barnstaple and is one of over 40 Audi quattro Cup Invitational events being staged throughout the UK.

Eight Regional Finals are held in July and August with the top 18 ‘pairs’ then going forward in to the Audi quattro Cup UK Final at Bowood Golf and Country Club near Calne, Wiltshire (4-6 Sep).

Ultimately two “pairs” representing Great Britain compete in the Audi quattro Cup World Final staged at the Trump National Golf Club, Los Angeles (7-11 Nov).

The Audi quattro Cup, being staged for the 23rd year, is the world’s largest amateur golf competition with almost 80,000 players from over 50 countries competing for a place in the week-long World Final.
