Archant

Dean ‘The Cobra’ Tratt kept up his season-long unbeaten record when he defeated the much vaunted George Scutt of Sydenham ABC at the Yeovil ABC tournament held at Westlands Social Club, writes Neil Parsons.

Tratt, a proverbial slow starter, was made to work from the first bell as Scutt powered forward.

However, Tratt jabbed and moved to great effect and kept the Somerset boxer at bay.

With his confidence growing, Tratt proved too busy and too strong for Scutt and began landing telling power shots that disturbed the Sydenham boxer.

Bizarrely, with Tratt well on top, the referee gave him a standing count when he was obviously well in control of proceedings!

Scutt came out for the final session like a whirlwind, throwing wild shots from all angles, but none landed on the target area and Dean used his angles well to slip inside and counter to run out a comfortable unanimous point’s winner.

The final bout of the Tratt season will be on May 30 at the Heathfield Social Club, Tiverton, against an opponent yet to be named.
