Lympstone boxer Tratt is a winner on HMS Drake bill

Lympstone ABCs Middleweight Dean Tratt boxed for Devon against the Royal Marines at HMS Drake Plymouth on Saturday and kept his season’s unbeaten record when he won a points decision against Marine Max Nutini, writes Neil Parsons.

Tratt was slow to get off the mark and clearly lost the first round, The second was a close affair and either boxer could have availed but the third was all Tratt who pummelled the Royal with crisp punches and a very tight split decision.

Lympstone ABC hold their final tournament of the season at Exmouth Pavilion on Saturday, May 9, when they play host to the famous Finchley ABC London and their coach, former British and Commonwealth featherweight champion Sean Murphy.

Local boxers pitting their wits against the London lads will be Louis and Jack Silk, Angus Smith, from the juniors and Lewis Shaw from the senior ranks.

An Interesting encounter will feature Exeter MKO’s unbeaten Victor Ogbo against Finchley’s Vangellis Akubeze at Heavyweight.

The Finchley club will be bringing a pair of gloves signed by Britain’s up and coming heavyweight Anthony Joshua which will be auctioned off on the evening.
