Lympstone boxer Harry Webb has just returned home from a three-hour session at the gym of boxing great Ricky Hatton.

The youngster, sponsored by his family’s firm, Webb South West Removals originally trained in a Hatton Academy workshop last year and was invited back, but this time with Ricky Hatton himself at his gym in Hyde, Manchester.

During the session Webb was shown new ideas for using his jab and got plenty of advice on body shots which Ricky Hatton was famous for, with Hatton wearing the body bag .

Webb said of his visit to the Hatton gym: “You could not find yourself better advice anywhere in the world when in comes to body punching. The gym is a fantastic set up and I do think other gyms and club s could learn a great deal of they saw how they do things up there. Ricky and his team are great to work with and you find that bit extra when you are in his presence, there is no doubt in my mind that he will go on to be a very successful trainer, you cant help but respect him, he is a genuine legend.

Martin Webb added: “Ricky has a fantastic approach to the lads he is training, you couldn’t wish to be a more honest guy, I wish him every success and we hope to be getting Harry back up to Manchester shortly.”

Webb is back training in the new Lympstone gym as he is in action on the clubs home show at the Exmouth Pavilions on May 24.
