Lympstone Boxing club members braved the elements over the weekend to box at three different venues across the Western Counties, writes Neil Parsons.
Jared Jones was in action at Bideford ABCs Annual Dinner show at the Durrant House Hotel.
Jones was paired with the much more experienced Jake Langdon, boxing in the hosts clubs colours.
Jones dominated from the first bell with a combination of slick skills, pace and power which the home boxer had no answer too leaving Jones a comfortable points winner.
Gary Robinson and Jon Fenton-Harvey were in action at the Bridport ABC show.
The pair were both paired against home boxers who were backed by a vociferous and hostile support! Fenton-Harvey was first into the ring tackling Bridport’s Joe Nowell.
The Lympstone boxer served up an impressive display of clinical punching with power and landed a unanimous points decision.
Robinson then took on home favourite Jack Chatham and chased him down throughout the bout pumping in good body shots against his taller opponent and he too bagged a unanimous points decision.
Twelve-year-old Rory Clay (36 kgs) featured in a skills bout on the Tavern ABC show at Watchet where he was paired with Bailey Hanis from the Factory ABC of Gloucester.
Both lads produced text book boxing keeping it neat and tidy throughout and fully deserved the rapturous applause from what was a capacity audience.
On this showing both lads will have a great future in the game.
All the above mentioned will be appearing on the Exmouth ABC show taking place at the Exmouth Pavilion this Saturday (December 1).
