Louis part 
of winning GB team

EXMOUTH’S Jo Louis was a member of the Great Britain team that won the ITF Young Seniors World Team Championships in Turkey.

Louis, who manages Exmouth Tennis & Fitness Centre, went to Antalya with the team and brought back the Margaret Court Trophy for the first time.

Louis and Isabelle Tyrell contested the singles matches and Katie Shaw and Siobhan Nicholson the doubles.

Great Britain beat South Africa, Australia and Switzerland in the round-robin phase to come top of their group without the loss of a set.

They progressed to the medal play-off against Germany and France,

The final group play-offs proved a real nail-biter but the British team were confirmed as world champions as they had a higher percentage of matches and sets won against played in the final play off group.

THERE was more success for the Tennis and Fitness Centre at the Grade 4 Singles event at Ivybridge.

Ben Johnson won the 10-and-under competition and sister Jess was the winner at nine and under singles.
