Lane wins two more titles

BADMINTON: EXMOUTH'S Ben Lane won his fourth consecutive U11 national singles and doubles title at the weekend.

BADMINTON: EXMOUTH'S Ben Lane won his fourth consecutive U11 national singles and doubles title at the weekend.

The Withycombe School pupil has so far been undefeated this year in the Under 11 English circuit, confirming his number one ranking in England for singles and doubles.

This weekend saw the biggest draw of the year with 64 boys from all over England competing for the title.

Ben won his semi-final match against David King of Sussex 10-12, 11-7, 11-8, then the final against Aidean Gibbons of Avon 11-6, 11-9.

In the doubles Ben played with Mathew Claire from Yorkshire. They beat David King and Tom Levy from Sussex in the semi-final 12-10, 6-11, 11-9, then went on to win the final against Aidean Gibbons and Connor Watson.

This week Ben is off to Belgium with the Under 13 England team to compete in the Olve Cup.
