EXMOUTH'S first wake boarding school is looking for more children and better weather to get the ball rolling.

Dave Foa, Mark Rhodes and Ollie Gribbs launched Exe Wake at the beginning of the month and had hoped for a sunny April to encourage young people and children to join.

Foa, from Exmouth Beach, said: "We need more kids to along and join, the mayor's son was going to start but he broke his wrist and has to wait now until the May half-term. We are taking 6-7 people regularly, but have a capacity for 36 people per week.

"We have gone to the community college and are hoping to sign up more youngsters. We are really encouraging people to come and take part in this fun thing."

Exe Wake Club provides lessons for 8 - 16 year old children and offers special events for adults such as hiring the ringo or boat for stag nights.

The boat and club is sponsored by many local businesses from the town centre and beachfront.

The club will run for the whole summer.
