They launched from the slipway in Lynmouth in calm conditions and paddled into the bay about half a mile off Sillery Sands to an area where tope are known to be resident.Using a basic running ledger and 300lb mono trace, with a 6/0 single hook baited with mackerel, they caught many a number of dog fish before Issacs switched to snake launce as bait and soon caught a blonde ray, of about 13lbs, quickly followed by another of around 15lb. They also managed to catch two decent sized small eyed ray but unfortunately the tope didn't show on the day.
