WITH a full squad at their disposal the recently crowned Exmouth League champions, Hornets, were in buoyant mood and showed opponents Replay no mercy. It was Replay who drew first blood but the response from the champions was instant and they went on to dominate the first quarter, closing it out at 12-3.In the 2nd quarter Hornets turned to Jeanette Dale in wing defence whilst Replay introduced Wendy Chard into the shooting circle.Chard made an instant impact netting twice from the back of the circle. Hornets defensive duo, Sarah Harris and Louise Passmore then produced some superb interceptions to deny Chard further scores whilst, at the other end the Hornets shooters, Helen Chester and Andrea Howe, combined superbly, with help Jeanette Dale, Sasha Williams and Lisa Browning in the industrious centre court area, to ensure the score board continued to turn over taking the champions into a 30-7 half way lead.In the third quarter Relay re-introduced Nat Chard to shooter and at the close of this period the score was 45-11 in Hornets favour. The latter stages saw Hornets change positions at regular intervals to utilise all the players and during this time, despite the changes, the goal count tempo increased for Hornets to run out 64-13 victors.Special mention has to go to Hornets goal attack, Andrea Howe, who is leaving the side at the end of this season to move to a new job in Woking and she will be missed by all her team mates. The Players of the Match were named as Hornets defensive duo, Louise Passmore and Sarah Harris whilst for Replays the award went to centre, Fran Lewis.
