EXMOUTH Archer Caz Harwood joined 157 of the Countries top ranked Archers over the weekend to take part in the Archery GB UK Masters
tournament held at the National Sports Centre in Lilleshall, Shropshire, writes Robert Drew.
Harwood, a member of the Archery GB development squad, training for a potential place at the 2016 Olympics, competed against 27 other Lady
Recurve Archers hoping to win the Ogden Trophy and the title of Ladies Recurve UK Master.
The Tournament consists of a ranking round on the Saturday morning to seed the Archers for a Head to Head match in the afternoon. Harwood was
ranked 19th and went through to shoot two matches before being knocked out in the 18 eliminations.
The shooting on Sunday involved a Ladies FITA where the Archers shoot 144 arrows at four distances. Harwood shot exceptionally in the morning and
remained at the top of the leader board but unfortunately lost several points in the afternoon to be finally placed sixth.
All three elements of the weekend are combined which gave her a final placing of eleventh.
Awards are also given for individual elements of the weekend and Harwood returned to Exmouth with the Langford Lloyd Trophy for her overall score on the
Sunday morning and the Ingo Simon Salver for her 70 metre score.
