GUSTING winds made for challenging conditions for the Ladies competing in the late July Stableford Cancer Relief Competition at the East Devon Golf Club.

GUSTING winds made for challenging conditions for the Ladies' competing in the late July Stableford Cancer Relief Competition at the East Devon Golf Club.

In the testing conditions only Jan Harvey was able to play to her handicap on the day.

The Silver Division was won by Hilary Shiels with 34 points with the 2nd and 3rd places determined by count back after Tessa Beer and Marion Tye both finished on 32 points, Beer getting the nod for 2nd on count back.

In the Bronze A Division the winner was Jan Harvey with 37 points and again the runners-up berth was decided by count back with Brenda Somerfield getting the nod ahead of Hazel Munyard, both players finished with 34 points.

In the Bronze B Division, Celia Dixon won with 31 points, three ahead of the field and once again the minor places were settled using the count back method with Pam Webster clinching 2nd over Marion Morgan, both players finishing their respective rounds with 28 points.
