Exmouth Bridge members continue to make great strides both locally and nationally.

ON THE final Tuesday of July the BGB Simultaneous Pairs took place throughout the country, writes Carla Pickering.

There were nearly 2,000 contestants nationwide with eighteen from Exmouth Bridge Club taking part.

At club level, Robert Harriott and Alan Swift were the highest scorers with 66.67 per cent but this went down to 59.76 per cent overall, which was good enough for them to be placed 148th in the competition.

A similar fate befell Shelagh and Brian Hughes who scored 61.81 percent locally but saw that reduced to 56.96 per cent in terms of the national standings and they finished 307th.

The only significant ascendant in the result sheet were Martin and Priscilla Luce who went from 54.86 per cent to 57.62 per cent, thus achieving the second best result in the club and heartiest congratulations to all the afore mentioned players on their superb achievements.
