The penultimate Sunday of June saw the running of the Torbay Half Marathon, writes Dave Eveleigh.

Another sea front run, this one takes in Paignton and Torquay and it was won in a swift time of 65:42 by Isaac Kimutai.

Six Exmouth Harriers were on the start line and all finished very well placed. In fact in a field including over a thousand men the five male runners representing Exmouth were all in the top hundred and three were in the top thirty!

Dawn Teed, timed at 1:48:23 was 60th out of over 500 women and fifth of 32 women aged 45-49 who ran. The very consistent Hugh Marsden now in the men aged 50-54 category was 22nd overall and first in that age group clocking 82:05.

Then, within 400 metres of Hugh, were Mike Musgrove (25th and 5th of 184 in the male aged 40-44 group) with a time of (82:49) and Adam Miller, 28th in 83:41. Adrian Kearns was 43rd (85:57) and sixth male aged 40-44 group with Mark Thompson 73rd in 89:43 and 15th in the same category as Adrian.

Exmouth’s Tom Merson, running for first claim club Bristol and West, was fourth in 69:41
