Harriers free-run course proves a real hit

BACK in early April Exmouth Harriers launched a free course for novice runners, writes Dave Eveleigh.
The first session consisted of a warm up, followed by 30 seconds jogging then 60 seconds walking, repeated five times.
On Sunday, June 19, fourteen of the course participants marked its completion with a timed one mile run along Exmouth seafront with ell the runners finishing in under a dozen minutes.
The recent move to the more accessible indoor tennis centre at Withycombe certainly seems to have aided this particular venture!
The club hope that providing support through the early days has helped those that attended, start a long term fitness regime that will benefit them greatly and it looks like the Harriers may even gain some members as a result too!
The course was run by Bob Woodall with help from Nicki Crook.
