Unbeaten Brixington Blues U11s took on opponents Bradninch in their league match at home.

After what looked to be a tough opening few minutes with Bradninch displaying some strong defensive work, Blues broke away with opening goal from Henry Turner shortly followed by another from Oliver Morgan.

Bradninch we’re quick to react taking the score to 2-1 but glovesman and Captain Lucas Marles, with his constant words of encouragement, soon offered Blues the chance to gain more glorious goals.

Effortless first touches, beautiful crosses and corners a plenty from calm right wing man Oliver Murdoch led Brixington to gain control of the game and Morgan created assists for goals from Jye Hill, another two from Turner and one for Murdoch himself, leaving the half-time score at 6-1.

Substitutes made at half time saw Alex Suttie and James Curtis also add to the scoresheet. Indestructible Rudi Wilkinson slotted the ball home with Suttie and Murdoch both calmly hitting the back of net for the second time.

A last-minute beautifully executed corner from Man of the Match Morgan saw fearless defender Riley West smash the ball home for one last time.

Elsewhere, the Brixington Blues Under-13s progressed in the Devon County Cup with a 5-0 win at Plymouth Marine Academy.

Ben Vines headed in the opening goal inside the first minute, with Ned O’Mahoney running the midfield, taking on players and creating numerous chances.

Josh Lawrence fired the Blues into a 2-0 lead on 25 mins with a lovely turn, rifling home from a corner and the Blues took control of the game. Will Palfrey had a great game showing silky footwork and created an attack from which the Blues won a penalty. Ned O’Mahoney stepped to calmly slot the ball in for 3-0 just before half time.

It was more great midfield play between Isaac Wykes, Ryan McCann and Ben Vines that saw the Blues win another corner and when the ball fell to O’Mahoney he fired in sweetly for 4-0.

Harry Tooby intercepted a loose ball and found Harry Batten whose superb cross saw Ben Vines strike an extraordinary volley for 5-0 with the Blues cruising.
