The Terror Pins made their first appearance at the Blue Ball, Sidford, when they travelled to the refurbished Inn to take on Rough Riders last Thursday, writes SpursTom.

The very comfortable function room and surroundings made for a pleasant evening for a game which turned out to be closely contested between two very evenly matched teams.

After five legs the visitors were averaging 52 per leg compared to 51 by the hosts.

The sixth leg proved to be the killer and turning point of the match, the Rough Riders once again scored 5l, but both Chris Gatter and David Hicks recorded spares (knocking down 16 pins each), enabling Terror Pins to triumph in the leg by 14 to give them an overall lead of 18.

In the final two legs it was back to being a very close encounter with Terror Pins gaining only one pin more than the hosts to eventually come out on top 429 to 410.

At the end, it was back to back victories for the Terror Pins for which Chris Gatter top scored with 70, followed by David Hicks on 68, the next best was Rough Riders, Keith White with 59.
