SNOOKER: East Budleigh A, champions of the Exmouth Snooker League two years ago, share top spot now with their most recent opponents, Snooker Club C.

East Budleigh won three frames from Mark Auton 66-31, Kevin Luxton 67-52 and a fluked black-ball for Chris Dabrowiecki 71-57.

For Snooker C, Andrew Binmore 80-32 and Paul Atkins 80-74 kept the losing deficit to a minimum.

Fresh from their recent, maximum-points win, Topsham Conservative suffered a 4-1 defeat on their visit to East Budleigh B.

Julian Fewings 51-18 kept them fourth in the table with his frame win.

Victories by Andrew Savage 67(29)-33, Derek Quick 79-43, Bert Savage 64-62 and Clive Pring 46-43 leave East Budleigh 10th, but with a game in hand.

Police Social Club A are one of four teams on 47 points, following their win at Otterton A.

George Webster 80-44, Colin Laver 67-60 and Steve Spinner 86-60 saw two frames lost on the black to Patrick Long 56-51 and Michael Dabrowiecki 49-46.

Four of the five frames contested on the East Budleigh C table were decided on the final black.

The three recorded by Percy Franks 40-31, Leo Dolling 48-40 and Barry Bentley 73-63 for the home team were enough to beat the Police B.

Peter Gibson 49-46 won their close encounter but, Bob Horton's final frame was more decisive 49-5.
